Website AI agent vs chatbot: pick the job, not the widget
A chat bubble is not a strategy. The useful split is brand representation versus ticket resolution — and they are different products.
Same square on the page, different job
Both a website AI agent and a classic chatbot show up as a panel on the site. That is where the similarity should end.
A website agent represents the organisation: answers from owned knowledge, stays on-voice, guides a next step, and hands off when the job leaves its authority. HEA-World is built for that job.
A support chatbot (Intercom Fin, Zendesk AI, Ada, and peers) is built to resolve or triage tickets inside an inbox. It is the right tool when the conversation *is* care — “where is my order”, “reset my access” — not when a first-time visitor is trying to understand whether you are credible.
Enterprise CX and contact-centre agents sit on the same care square at a different scale: Ada, NiCE Cognigy and Kore.ai for customer-facing agents across web, messaging and voice; Genesys Cloud CX and Parloa for the centre itself. HEA-World is a brand-owned front door. It does not replace those platforms.
Three questions before you embed anything
- If this conversation goes well, what should happen next — a ticket closed, or a relationship started?
- Where does the answer come from — a help center, or the public site and your offer?
- Who takes over, and how fast, when the visitor is not a case?
If you cannot answer those, you are buying a widget.
When both belong on the journey
They often do — on different touchpoints. The agent on website conversation and enquiry. The helpdesk AI on support and care. Connecting them is an operations problem (Make, a CRM, a named owner), not a reason to use one product for every sentence the customer types.
See HEA-World on the map, Intercom Fin and Ada for the honest split. Moveworks, Aisera, Cohere North and Decagon are left off the public shelf on purpose — internal automation or build/sovereignty infrastructure, not a ready brand conversation.
